Mbdortmund ist am 17. April 2012 gestorben.

Er stieß im Juni 2005 zu uns und für mich zählte er zu den Urgesteinen der Wikipedia. Leider habe ich ihn nur einmal persönlich getroffen, er war jedoch für mich in der Wikipedia und auf Wikimedia Commons immer präsent, auch seine Mitarbeit im Support-Team war für uns alle sehr wichtig. Seine Artikel und Fotos werden bleiben und uns an ihn erinnern. (Raymond)

Mbdortmund passed away on April 17, 2012. He contributed wonderful articles about literature and culture to the German Wikipedia since 2005, and he was elected administrator on Commons since 2008. Furthermore, he was active in the German OTRS support team. He was respected and regarded for his calm and competent character, his sometimes critical, but always friendly communication style and his high quality contributions. Schon OK, im Moment habe ich angefangen, Geldscheine zu erfassen, Weltkrieg I und drumherum, und Fotos und Postkarten aus der Zeit von einem toten Onkel, der anscheinend irgendswie im Osmanischen Reich unterwegs war, sieht fast gemütlich aus wie ein touristisches Unternehmen, wahrscheinlich haben sie aber doch die Leute umgebracht!? Keine Ahnung. Ich habe neben den Fotos auch zwei arabische Dolche und einige 100 Jahre alte Reiseführer geerbt, Istanbul, Palästina usw., auch einige Reliquien vom Typ "Splitter vom hl. Kreuz", mein Onkel war Elektriker und anscheinend verarschbar, oder hat er beim Kauf gegrinst? Eher nicht. Als alter Knacker war er zu keiner vernünftigen Auskunft mehr fähig, ich glaube, meine Großtante war keine schlaue Wahl für ihn und sie hat er auch nicht glücklich gemacht ... Achja, mein Kleinbildkamerakaufprojekt steht, wie Du vllt. gesehen hat, vor neuen Herausforderungen: Canon 5 D Mark III oder Nikon D4 oder D 800 oder dieselbe ohne Tiefpassfilter. Vielleicht kaufe ich die D 800, weil die am "billigsten" ist, obwohl ich das mit der irrén Auflösung zweifelhaft finde. Aber fast 6.000 für das D4-Gehäuse oder das analoge Topmodell von Canon find' ich übertrieben. Die D700 gibbet jetzt billig, aber 12 Megapixel find ich echt Handy und die Canon Mark II hab ich drei Wochen ausprobieren können, die ist nicht übel, aber schlechter als ihr Ruf. Vor allem der Autofokus und die Rauscherei stören. Na, mal sehen, was würdest Du vorschlagen, finanzieren kann ich es, durch meine Krankheit habe ich praktisch null Geld ausgegeben im letzten Jahr. --Mbdortmund (talk) 18:18, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Die D700 ist super für Action und Schnappschüsse bei wenig Licht, da kommt die D800 nicht mit. Aber für den dokumentarisch tätigen Wikiknipser ist sicherlich die 800 die bessere Wahl. Nur wirst du damit stets unter ISO800, besser unter 400 bleiben wollen nach den ersten Berichten, und um die Auflösung wirklich nutzen zu können, wirst du feststellen, daß man auch schon bei an sich guten Lichtverhältnissen oft schon ein Stativ benötigt - die alte Kleinbildregel 1/Brennweite als "verwackelsichere" Zeit gilt bei dem Ding nicht mehr, denn was bei sechs oder zehn MPixeln noch als ausreichend scharf durchgeht, wischt bei der D800 immer gleich über mehrere Pixelreihen. Ob mit oder ohne Aliasingfilter ist zweischneidig. Theoretisch gibt das Ding ohne Filter schärfere Bilder, Frage ist nur a) welches Zoomobjektiv schafft überhaupt die Auflösung (die meisten nicht) und b) wieviel Zeit möchte man in die Nachbearbeitung stecken, denn WENN es Moirée gibt, dann ist dessen Beseitigung schwierig bis eklig zu machen. -- smial (talk) 19:42, 13 March 2012 (UTC) Das mit dem Überleben lese ich gern und drücke weiterhin alle vorhandenen Daumen
