File:Archway - geograph.org.uk - 4424.jpg[edit]
This dated 16 year old photo is wholly unrepresentative of the area, Archway, today. For example, the archway tower in the background - the centrepoint of the neighborhood - has been completely redeveloped and no longer looks like this mess. It is the first image that appears on google, which is a shame as the area is much improved since this photo was taken. Archwayisthebest (talk) 15:57, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- Keep: We don't generally delete pictures simply because they no longer depict the current state of the world. While this picture is technically fairly poor it does seem to be a pretty decent depiction of the area in 2005, and as discussed in en:Talk:Archway, London#Image removals we have few if any other pictures showing this view. I expect that Google's choice of image is based on this picture's having been on en:Archway, London, and now that there's a different picture there Google will change its mind about what picture to use. In any case, Google's poor choice of picture is not a reason for Commons to delete a file. --bjh21 (talk) 00:18, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- Keep: Keep for historical reasons. Actually, the depiction of a prior state of a place or object serves an encyclopedic purpose. --Schlosser67 (talk) 12:26, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Kept: per discussion. --Gestumblindi (talk) 15:24, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
