A photograph is a moment in time. It does not merely portray a subject; it portrays its particular subject from a particular vantage point at the precise moment the image was created.

I am interested in fiddly details, including close-ups. I am also interested in things most others would not think to photograph for the sake of recording their existence.

As a teen, I had an old (even then!) but nonetheless excellent DSLR and I must dig out my photo archives and donate them. After being stuck photographing with my phone and occasionally my partner's, which presents a challenge compounded by a slight shake to the hands that makes me better suited to handling the comparative bulkiness of a DSLR, I ordered an obsolete Canon which I am going to very slowly get reacquainted with.
