Lovely visitors, I set a big importance on a friendly conversational tone. When we all be obliging, we sure could find compromises in every conflict.
- For holding discussions together, I mostly answer on that page, where the discussion began.
- A new contribution you can start here. Please allways sign with -- ~~~~ (two hyphens, vier tildes).
- Old discussions, you find at archive 1 and archive 2.
- If you don't want, that other user can read your note, you also can write an e-mail.
- Please don't change my userpages without my knowledge (This applies to erasing themes, except it's apparently vandalism).
Protection of User talk:Wuestenigel[edit]
Hi Ra'ike, why did you protect this user page? Usually we do not protect user pages of blocked users unless they are misusing their talk page privilege. This would also mean that notices about deletion requests etc. are lost. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 06:32, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hallo AFBorchert, for me it has been the usual procedure to close the user pages of locked users. In addition, one finds all previous deletion notifications in the version history. - Hi Ra'ike, thank you for reverting this. At Commons, we prefer to archive user talk pages and to keep them open. Even for banned users like User talk:Russavia or User talk:INeverCry. We do this for two reasons as we can watch the deletion requests as they come and as this gives the users the opportunity to ask for an unblock using {{Unblock}}. - Hallo Hystrix und vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Ich habe den Unsinn gleich zurückgesetzt. Selbst wenn diese Band relevant sein sollte, hat sie nichts unter der Edelsteinkategorie "Heliotrop" zu suchen, sondern müsste theoretisch nach Category:Heliotropes, siehe en:Heliotropes (band). Hi, kannst du die Ticket-Nummern „2018093010005201“ und „2018093010005246“ bearbeiten? Das ist ja eins deiner Betätigungsfelder und ich dachte einfach mal, ich wende mich damit nun an dich. Da könnten allerdings noch einige Tickets hinzukommen. Ich beschäftige mich zurzeit intensiv mit einem Artikel und dieser muss reichlich bebildert werden. - Hallo RS34, die beiden Freigaben wurden unter der Ticket-Nr. 2018093010005201 zusammengefasst. Es wäre übrigens besser gewesen, die Nachricht vom Urheber direkt weiterzuleiten, anstatt eine Bilddatei daraus zu machen. - Hallo RS34, ich habe dem Bistum Essen als Rechteinhaber jetzt nochmal selbst geantwortet, weil die Freigabe leider immer noch nicht unseren Vorgaben entsprach. Vor allem ist die Einschränkung, Bilder "bei Wikipedia zur Veröffentlichung und Nutzung freizugeben", nicht zulässig und es muss explizit eine für Wikipedia nutzbare Lizenz angegeben werden, unter der die Bilder verwendet werden dürfen. - Hi Olga, ich weiß das auch erst seit einiger Zeit und bin zufällig drauf gestoßen, weil es eine Benutzer-Vorlage in de-Wikipedia gibt, bei der mit zufälligen Bildern die jeweils aktuelle Uhrzeit angezeigt werden kann :-) Viele grüße -- Ra'ike T C 11:19, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at Wikimedia Commons.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Thank you for your hard work to create the sum of all knowledge that is freely sharable to every single human being across the world. As our diverse community grows, we need a guideline that will help all of our work collectively and constructively where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and part of a team. That is why the Wikimedia movement is working on establishing a global guideline called the Universal Code of Conduct, often referred to as UCoC.
After the months-long policy consultation, we have prepared a policy (available in many languages) that has been ratified by the Board of Trustees. We’re currently in the second phase of the process. During this round of consultation, we want to discuss the implementation of this policy. As a member of the functionary team of Wikimedia Commons, your opinion on enforcement is of great value. We want to hear from you on how this policy can be enforced on the Wikimedia Commons community and what might be needed to do so. There are a few enforcement questions so you can easily outline your answers based on them. Please do not hesitate to bring any more questions/challenges you think are not yet discussed.
The discussion is taking place on Commons:Universal Code of Conduct consultation. You can also share your thoughts by replying to this message (Please ping me so I get notified), posting your message on my talk page. I am aware that some thoughts cannot be expressed publicly, so you can always share your opinion by emailing me as well.
