Call for applications: Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships Programme

Background

Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships are funded through the New Zealand Aid Programme and managed by Education New Zealand, in partnership with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships help build sustainable development in partner countries and a lifetime connection with New Zealand.

New Zealand offers scholarships to eligible citizens from developing countries to study abroad at a New Zealand education institution or university or at a Pacific university.


Focus areas

You may study at postgraduate level in New Zealand. Master's level study is preferred. A maximum of 10% of scholarships awarded each year will be for PhD studies.

Sectors and subjects for eligible students from Africa:

  • Food Security and Agriculture
  • Renewable Energy
  • Good Governance


Eligibility

The eligibility questionnaire will establish whether you are eligible for a scholarship by checking the following: 

  • In which country you hold citizenship.
  • How long you have been living in your home country.
  • How much work experience you have.
  • Whether we provide scholarships to your country.
  • You must complete the eligibility questionnaire before you can apply for a Scholarship.
  • Complete the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships online Eligibility Test.
