Unisa's online examination rules clearly state that not using the proctoring tools is a violation of Unisa's examination regulations. Furthermore, any student who spends a cumulative total of 10 minutes outside of the Invigilator App during their examination session will be considered to have breached Unisa's examination rules.
This rule was clearly communicated and shared with students in our online examination rules and guidelines through multiple communication channels.
Despite these instructions, a number of students exited or minimised the Invigilator App for a period exceeding 10 minutes during their assessment and therefore violated the mandatory usage of the Invigilator App during their examinations. Accordingly, marks have been withheld.
First-time writing students who have been identified to have been out of the Invigilator App for more than 10 minutes have had their marks withheld and are eligible to rewrite during their next module examination sitting. Second-time writing students have had their marks withheld and will have to re-register for the module(s). Students aggrieved by the university decision may appeal using this form.
We stress the importance of adhering to these rules, as they are in place to uphold the credibility of our examinations and qualifications. All enquiries relating to invigilation should be referred to Proctoringenquiries@unisa.ac.za
