Know your proctoring tool

1. Moodle Proctoring

a)       All MCQ/Quiz examinations (except CSET) will be proctored by Moodle Proctoring.

b)      Determine whether your module will be  proctored by the Moodle Proctoring tool on Proctoring tools

c)       This tool requires access to a student’s mobile or laptop camera. Students must ensure their camera is activated in their  browser settings.

d)       Once a student starts their MCQ/Quiz examination attempt on the myExams platform, the student will be requested to activate their camera on the mobile or laptop browser.

e)      Once activated the proctoring tool will work in the background with no further actions expected from the student.

f)        Prepare yourself for Moodle Proctoring by partaking in the mock examination Course: ADOVH001 (unisa.ac.za)

g)       Non-usage of proctoring tools will result in students’ marks being withheld unless exempted.

2. Invigilator App

a)       All file-upload/take-home examination (except CSET) will be invigilated through the Invigilator App.

b)      Determine whether your module will be invigilated by the Invigilator App on Proctoring tools

c)        This invigilation tool requires students to download the App from their playstores (Google, Huawei and Apple) a day prior to their examination sitting.

d)       Once downloaded the student is expected to register using their myLife email accounts.

e)       On the day of the examination the student is requested to scan the QR code that will be provided on the module’s sites or on the examination question paper.

f)        The QR code is only available for activation 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after the scheduled start time of your examinations.

g)       Once you scanned your QR code, ensure your phone is on flight mode.

h)      The Invigilator App will prompt students to partake in various activities.

i)        Students must not close the Invigilator App as this will deactivate their invigilation.

j)        Once your scheduled examination sessions ensure you upload your invigilation results within 48 hours of your examination sitting. If you have not uploaded results within the specified period, your results will be deemed not to have participated in the invigilation.

k)       Prepare yourself for Invigilator App invigilation by partaking in the mock examination Course: ADOVH001 (unisa.ac.za)

l)        Non-usage of proctoring tools will result in students’ marks being withheld unless exempted.

3. IRIS Proctoring tool

a)       ALL CSET examinations will be proctored by the IRIS invigilation tool.

b)      Determine whether your module will be  proctored by the IRIS  on Proctoring tools

c)       Before the day of their examination students, are expected to have installed the IRIS software on the laptop devices enabled with webcam.

d)       On the day of the examination, the IRIS proctoring tool is activated when you access your exam on the myExams portal.

e)       IRIS will automatically enter the myExams password to allow student to start the online assessment.

f)        Prepare yourself for IRIS proctoring by partaking in the practice examination on the IRIS PREP 2022 on your myModules sites.

g)       Non-usage of proctoring tools will result in students’ marks being withheld unless exempted.
