Protection Services awareness: Unisa 2023 registrations at the Sunnyside Campus

The mandate of the Security Services at the Sunnyside Campus is to offer effective crime prevention and protection, and to safeguard university assets, other valuable items, the lives of students, personnel and all visitors to the campus, and all this combined with friendly service.

Safety tips 

  • All Unisa staff members can be identified by their Unisa staff cards. If you are uncertain about the credentials of an individual assisting you, please request to see their staff identification card. 
  • Do not accept help from strangers.
  • Be on the look-out for individuals that might request money to assist you. Unisa staff will not ask you for any money or cash payment. 
  • Unisa Sunnyside is a cash-less campus and will request your bank card for payments. Do not accept cash for the use of your bank card. 
  • Report any suspicious behaviour immediately to the closest security staff.
  • Don’t lend your phone or laptop to anyone.
  • If a crime is committed in your presence, please inform the nearest Protection Services member, who will assist you further.
