On 2 September 2022, Unisa’s Ethics Management Division, in collaboration with the Department of Student Affairs conducted ethics training for the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Regional Student Representative Council (RSRC) at the KZN Regional Centre.

The ethics training was intended to raise awareness about the ethical duty and the importance of ethical and effective SRC leadership. During this session, members of the KZN RSRC were tasked with developing and consolidating their collective ethics pledges and committing to the institutional ethics drive. Their ethics pledge is narrated verbatim below.

“We pledge to serve the Unisa community with dignity and integrity. We also commit to playing a critical role in Unisa's transformational agenda as an institution and the community at large. We pledge to advocate for gender struggle and transformation while combating patriarchy, racism and tribalism throughout the Unisa community.

We pledge our commitment to ensuring that students are prioritised by the University and commit to working tirelessly to ensure access and success, particularly for students from disadvantaged communities.”
