Mazibuko's path to success was not without obstacles. Balancing the demands of her job as a security officer with her aspirations to study further required unwavering dedication and time management. However, she approached each hurdle with dedication, leveraging her role as a security officer to forge connections with students and stakeholders while creating time for her studies.

Raised in a middle-class family that valued education, Mazibuko's upbringing instilled a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Her parents' teachings laid the foundation for her resilience and self-reliance, which have propelled her forward in her academic and professional endeavours.

Her life took a significant turn when she enrolled for a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology at Unisa. She now works as a Database Officer for the Department of Institution Advancement through Unisa talent management. The Unisa talent management process entails attracting, developing, supporting and effectively optimising talent to meet institutional needs in support of and alignment with all approved human resources policies.

Transitioning from different roles within Unisa provided Mazibuko with invaluable experiences and insights. Her time as an exam officer further honed her skills and deepened her passion and commitment to work for Unisa.

Mazibuko's journey also illustrates the power of mentorship and support within Unisa as a workplace. Mentors like Mmone Mohoroe provided guidance, validation, and encouragement, empowering her to excel in her role and pursue her aspirations. The belief in her potential bolstered her confidence and inspired her to strive for excellence.
