The Unisa Moot Court Competition provides law students with practice in legal advocacy through a simulated court session. Students get to argue legal cases just like they would in court.
The Unisa Tshwane Region team, which participated, included four students led by Prince Mphuthi, Tshwane Regional Student Representative Council Secretary. They were required to prepare and present arguments on a complex legal issue before a panel of judges.
After months of preparation, the teams arrived for the competition at the Unisa Muckleneuk campus. They worked tirelessly, studying legal issues and honing their argumentation skills.
During the competition, various teams delivered outstanding performances. After countless hours of research and preparation, it was evident that they were ready to compete with each other. Arguments were persuasive, well-reasoned, and confidently delivered. In addition, the knowledge and eloquence of every team impressed the judges as they engaged in a spirited back-and-forth.
At the end of the competition, the Unisa Tshwane Region team was declared the winner. This achievement was a testament to the team's dedication and hard work.
The moot court experience is crucial to the university's law program, allowing students to gain practical experience and develop critical legal skills. The Tshwane Region team's success is evidence of the quality of the law education offered by Unisa.
