Following the release of the 2024 National Senior Certificate examination results by the Department of Basic Education, prospective students were able to apply for admission at Unisa. The university’s three Eastern Cape regional service centres, located in East London, Mthatha, and Gqeberha, saw numerous students taking advantage of the opportunity to make late applications for selected undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees, and postgraduate diplomas, in addition to returning students looking forward to register for the academic year.

While Unisa is a renowned open-distance and e-Learning (ODeL) institution, offering online application and registration facilities, students hoping for a more personal touch made their way to the regional centres.

The university continuously strives to improve the overall experience for its students, focusing on refining administrative processes, integrating more sophisticated technology to streamline the application and registration process, and ensuring that there are sufficient computer stations for self-help areas, aiming to ensure that whether students choose to apply online or in person, their journey will be smooth, efficient, and ultimately a positive one.
