Establishing the centres in these parts of the country demonstrates Unisa's commitment to ensuring that no South African is left behind in receiving world-class education and the support required for success in their studies. On 17 August 2023, eleven representatives from both provinces gathered in Polokwane to celebrate the region's 17th anniversary.

Dr Lesiba Molepo, the Acting Regional Director, the Regional Student Representative Council and the Alumni Convenor in Limpopo, expressed gratitude for the centre’s positive impact on students in the region. They further encouraged the centre's staff to continue offering excellent services to stakeholders. Fausa Mamabolo represented the tutors in the region and shared that in her interaction with students, they hail the continuous efforts made by the university to improve their learning experiences.

The regional management celebrated the staff that worked to deliver the mammoth vision of the university to serve all citizens with dignity and excellence. Furthermore, acknowledgement was given to former staff members for the contributions they have made to the region.
