Ms Kamogelo Sehoole from the Institute for Catalysis and Energy Solutions (ICES) represented the university on the international stage after being selected to participate in the Youth Programme of the World Atomic Week, held in Moscow, Russia, from 26 to 28 September 2025. The event, hosted by ROSATOM State Corporation, formed part of the global celebration marking 80 years of the Russian nuclear industry. Her participation was fully funded by ROSATOM.

Over the three-day programme, Ms Sehoole joined young professionals from around the world in a series of high-level engagements. She took part in interactive educational and networking sessions, contributed to panel discussions, and visited the Museum of Nuclear Energy. She also explored a large-scale exhibition featuring the latest developments in the nuclear sector. These activities provided her with valuable exposure to international experts and emerging leaders across the industry.

World Atomic Week drew more than 18,000 participants, including government representatives, major industry players, scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, solidifying its position as one of the leading global platforms for nuclear dialogue and collaboration.
