Description
Português: Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses
English: Fresh water collecting in the valleys between sand dunes in the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in Brazil. A layer of rock beneath the sand prevents the rain water from dissipating during the rainy season, resulting in a broad expanse of lagoons.
Français : L'eau douce s'accumule dans les vallées entre les dunes de sable dans le parc national de Lençóis Maranhenses au Brésil. Une couche de roche sous le sable empêche l'eau de pluie de percoler. Ceci donne lieu à la formation de vastes étendues de lagunes durant la saison des pluies.
Español: Agua dulce acumulada entre las dunas costeras del Parque nacional de los Lençóis Maranhenses, Maranhão, Brasil. Una capa de roca bajo la arena impide que el agua de lluvia se disipe durante la temporada de lluvias, lo que da lugar a una amplia extensión de lagunas.
