Prof Newman Wadesango was appointed Professor Extraordinarius in the School of Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Graduate Studies at UNISA in 2024. Prof Newman Wadesango is a Full Professor of Educational Management at the University of Limpopo in South Africa. The phenomenal Professor has presented 35 conference papers and published 315 manuscripts (cited 2988 times). This record testifies to his productivity. He has to date supervised 12 Master's and 6 PhDs to completion. Prof Newman is the Editor-in-Chief of the budding African Perspectives of Research in Teaching and Learning Journal. He is also an Associate Chief-Editor for The Journal of African Education; an Editorial Board Member for the following Journals: Journal of Educational Studies; Acta Universitatis Danubius. economica Journal; Journal of Accounting, Finance and Auditing Studies; Journal of Entrepreneurship Education and a permanent Board member: (TERA) – Teaching and Education Research Association. Predictably, Prof Newman received the 2022 Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Best Overall Established Researcher during University of Limpopo’s annual excellence awards held in 2022. Prof Wadesango was bestowed with the same prestigious award in 2019.
It is also highly commendable that he desires to nurture novice researchers: he, in collaboration with 40 colleagues, has co-published more than 100 articles. This involvement in collaborative work shows an insatiable desire to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through a selfless attitude and strong sense of purpose. This speaks to the ethos of academia, which fosters sharing and grooming of future scholars.
