Graduating in absentia

Any candidate who graduates in absentia will have their certificate posted under registered cover within two weeks of the graduation ceremony. In certain circumstances, you may collect your certificate at the Division: Graduations after your graduation ceremony has taken place.

Please note the following in this regard:

  • To collect a certificate, special arrangements must be made with the Division: Graduations at least 10 days before the ceremony.
  • Certificates may only be collected during office hours (Muckleneuk Campus only).
  • An identity document, valid passport (foreign students) or South African driver's licence are required for verification purposes.


If you send someone to collect a certificate on your behalf, please take note of the following additional requirements:

  • A signed letter of consent which includes your contact details and the identity number (RSA) or passport number (foreign students) of the person who is to collect your certificate.
  • The person collecting your certificate on your behalf must present his or her identity document or passport (not a driver's licence) when submitting your letter of consent.


Duplicate certificates

Duplicate certificates will not be issued under any circumstances.
