- Provide training to supervisors, promoters, post-graduate mentors, non-examining chairs and any other academic professionals offering academic and scholarly support to postgraduate students, in wide-ranging competencies related to their roles in providing support to postgraduate research students.
- Provide training to supervisors, promoters and post-graduate mentors in guiding postgraduate students with:- (i) academic integrity (ii) proposal development. (iii) thesis and dissertation development; (iv) writing for publication from graduate projects; (v) grantsmanship; (vi) ethical practices in research and (vii) engaged scholarship
- Build supervisory capacity across all colleges
- Offer training to non-examining chairs in the assessment processes
- Offer training to internal and external examiners of postgraduate outputs.
- Provide institutional leadership on scholarship related to the development of postgraduate research skills.
- Provide training on the integration of African epistemologies and indigenous knowledge research into UNISA’s students’ postgraduate projects.
- Address the needs of society through engaged community research
