Professor Cosmas Maphosa is a Professor of Education Management and holds a Doctor of Education degree in Education Management. He is a high school teacher by profession. He taught in secondary schools from 1994 to 2002 and occupied several positions of leadership in the secondary school system such as Head of Department, Deputy Headmaster and Headmaster. He has worked in the higher education sector from 2003 as a lecturer, researcher, senior academic development practitioner, senior lecturer, Associate Professor and Full Professor. He is currently Professor and Director in the Institute of Distance of Education, University of Eswatini. He has published one book, six book chapters and one hundred and thirty-four (134) journal articles in peer-reviewed and accredited scientific journals to date. He has mentored a number of emerging academics and researchers in research supervision as well as research and publication. Prof Maphosa has, to date, successfully supervised fifteen full-thesis PhD candidates. He has also read more than thirty papers at local and international conferences. His research interests are in education management, curriculum studies, higher education studies as well as open and distance e-learning
