After completing her MSc in Astrophysics, Palesa worked at the South African Radio Astronomical Observatory, contributing to commercialization of Astronomy applications in industry. She took up a Data Scientist position at Standard bank and later moved to Sasol where she leads projects focused on creating digital solutions that optimise ways of work and create new ways of increasing revenue.

Palesa was included on the “Top 200 Young South Africans” list by Mail and Guardian in 2020 and is a UNISA alumnus.
