Technological Applications and Innovations in Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion

Naiema Taliep is a research psychologist with expertise and extensive experience in community-based participatory action research, community engagement, violence prevention and programme evaluation.

Her doctoral dissertation emerged from one of the SAMRC-UNISA Violence, Injury and Peace Research Unit’s flagship projects, SCRATCHMAPS, and focused on the development and evaluation of an interpersonal violence prevention intervention that focused on the promotion of positive forms of masculinity and safety and peace.

She has conducted research in the development and psychometric testing of questionnaires in the field of family functioning, violence, safety and peace, and health-related quality of life.
