Hello, Lošmi!

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Public domain images

So long as the image is of a 2-dimensional public domain artwork (e.g., not statues or bas reliefs), then yes, you can upload any image or scan. Use {{PD-Art}}

Restorations are a grey area, however, so be careful with that. Adam Cuerden (talk) 13:04, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Error in boats

Hey, i've noticed that you created the Belgrade Montage.jpg, and i want to ask you if you could create a identical one to the city of Oslo. There is already one, but it's very simple and doesn't show the really important things of Oslo. I don't know how to do it, so i'm asking you to do it, can you? cheers João P. M. Najprostije rečeno, slikaš nekoliko fotografija jednu za drugom u istoj ravni, tako da kraj prethodne bude isti kao početak sledeće. Dakle, trebalo bi da kraj prve malo "ulazi" u početak druge fotografije, kraj druge u početak treće i tako redom. Na osnovu tih poklapanja se to posle automatizovano spaja u nekom programu programu. Za to možeš da koristiš Hugin ili Photoshop CS3 i CS4. Imaš gomilu tutorijala na netu, gde možeš detaljnije da vidiš kako se sve to radi. Ovo je nešto najosnovnije. Kad se malo izvežbaš možeš da radiš i kompleksnije stvari. Npr, da slikaš nizove fotografija u dva reda (tu bi trebalo da se preklapaju i donja i gornja ivica fotki), pa posle sve to spajaš. --Lošmi (talk) 18:29, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Before you make insinuation

It is not a photo montage, it is a normal panorama photographed at the same time, the same date and the same place. All the images included in the other image you refer to were taken at the same place also. I am not sure how you could have thought I combined the images taken in a different places!--Mbz1 (talk) 03:40, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

I used tripod to take the images. They all were taken from the very same place. The only thing that was moving from shot to shot was the tripod's head. And to end all the suspicions I now uploaded one of the original (not post processed at all images . I do not remember, if this particular one was used to create the panorama (I took few sets, and I do not remember which ones I've used for the panorama), but it gives you an idea how it looked in the real life. Not even in a bad dream I would have thought about adding Golden Gate Bridge to the place it does not belong!--Mbz1 (talk) 05:51, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
