Mmabatho holds a Doctor of Policing degree from Tshwane University of Technology. She has been employed at the University of South Africa as an academic since 2017 and completed the Young Academic Programme in 2020. In 2021 she was promoted to a senior lecturer position. Furthermore, she completed a Certificate in Fraud Risk Management at the University of Pretoria. She has co-authored research articles and presented papers nationally on policing and cybersecurity awareness.
