South Africa have over 90 airports which includes both international and domestic airports. And amongst other biggest international airports are O.R Tambo, King Shaka and Cape Town.

OR Tambo International Airport

OR Tambo International Airport is "Africa's biggest and busiest airport, facilitating over 21 million passengers a year".

A domestic flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town takes approximately 2 hours (16 hours by car or 24 hours by rail). A domestic flight from Johannesburg to Durban is just over an hour (1 hour by car and 16 hours by rail).

From OR Tambo to Pretoria

If you need to travel in Pretoria, transport is available by taxi, minibus, airport shuttle and the Gautrain.

Gautrain is an 80-kilometre (50 minute) commuter rail system in Gauteng, which links the cities of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Ekhuruleni and the OR Tambo International Airport. Passengers boarding from the airport to Pretoria change trains at Marlboro station to connect to Pretoria following the N-S route. Upon arrival in Pretoria, passengers board a Gautrain bus to move around Pretoria   www.gautrain.co.za

These buses are available daily from 06:00 to 21:00. Passengers have the option to pay by credit card, cash or coupons. For more information, visit www.tshwane.gov.za

Uber and Taxify

Uber is a convenient, inexpensive and safe taxi service. Travellers are able to see when the driver is on route for pick up and drivers are always handy to pick up travellers within minutes of contact.

Taxify has only one service on offer and that means that you only have one price to pay. Many drivers who work for Uber also work for Taxify, which means that if you order a Taxify ride, you may just end up on an Uber.

Currency

The South African rand (ZAR) is the currency of South Africa and is issued by the South African Reserve Bank.
