Teresa served in the SAPS for twenty one years as a detective and worked at several stations and units ranging from Kliptown: Internal Investigation unit to Hillbrow, Area: Johannesburg, FCS – Hillbrow, Hillbrow, Sophiatown and was the branch commander at the detective services at Brixton. She then resigned from SAPS and join UNISA as a Lecturer in 2013.
