Juanida is a senior lecturer in Forensic Investigation of Crime in the Department of Police Practice at Unisa. For 17 years she was a member of the former South African Air Force Police (now the Military Police Agency). She served as officer commander at various police stations, where she gained valuable policing and investigative experience. At the time of her resignation as lieutenant colonel, she had a collection of certificates of appreciation and commendation. Her last posting was at SO1 System Management and she was second in command of the Northern Military Police Region. Juanida has completed courses in labour relations and advanced labour relations, both at the University of Pretoria. She has earned the following qualifications: National Diploma in Police Administration, BTech in Policing, MTech in Forensic Investigation and a DLitt et Phil in Police Science. In 2011, Juanida received Unisa’s Developing Researcher Award. She supervises M and D students in Criminal Justice (Forensic Investigation) and has presented papers at national and international conferences. Juanida has published various articles and is the co-author of a chapter in the book entitled Forensic investigation – legislative principles and investigation practice. She is also the co-author of the book Criminal & Forensic Investigation: A Guide to the Basic Processes and principles, which is forthcoming at Juta. Juanida is ’n senior dosent in Forensiese Misdaadondersoek aan die Departement Polisiepraktyk by Unisa. Sy was 17 jaar lank verbonde aan die voormalige Suid-Afrikaanse Lugmagpolisie (tans die Militêre Polisieagentskap). Sy het as bevelvoerder van verskeie polisiekantore gedien, waar sy waardevolle polisiëring- en ondersoekervaring opgedoen het. Ten tyde van haar bedanking as luitenant-kolonel het sy ’n versameling sertifikate met eervolle vermeldings gehad. Haar laaste pos was by SO1 Stelselbestuur, en sy was tweede in bevel by die Noordelike Militêre Polisiestreek. Juanida het ’n kursus in arbeidsbetrekkinge en gevorderde arbeidsbetrekkingebestuur voltooi, albei aan die Universiteit van Pretoria. Juanida het die volgende kwalifikasies verwerf: Nasionale Diploma in Polisieadministrasie, BTech in Polisiëring, MTech in Forensiese Ondersoek en DLitt et Phil in Polisiekunde. In 2011 het Juanida die Unisa Ontwikkelende Navorsertoekenning ontvang. Sy tree by plaaslike en internasionale konferensies as spreker op en het reeds verskeie artikels gepubliseer. Juanida is die medeouteur van ’n hoofstuk in die boek Forensic investigation – legislative principles and investigation practice. Sy is ook die medeouteur van die boek Criminal & Forensic Investigation: A Guide to the Basic Processes and principles, wat tans in druk is by Juta.
