Qualification admission requirements

Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.

A four-year Bachelor of Education degree with Mathematics completed up to second year level,
or
A general first degree or diploma, plus a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with Mathematics completed up to second year level,
or
a general first degree or diploma plus a former Higher Diploma in Education (Postgraduate) with Mathematics completed up to second year level.
or
A former cognate Advanced Certificate in Education (Level 6 on the former 8-level NQF)
or
a former cognate Further Diploma in Education which follows a former professional teaching qualification,
or
a former cognate four-year Higher Diploma in Education.
or
a new cognate Advanced Certificate (Level 6 on the current 10 level NQF) which followed a former Diploma in Education (including a National Professional Diploma in Education) may also be presented for admission in an Advanced Diploma.

Applicants who do not comply with the above requirements should consider applying for a lower level qualification for which they meet the statutory and additional requirements.

Pay the application fee once you've received your student number:

  • R140 for online applications
  • Use the 8 digit student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee reference number (ie YOUR 8 digit STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030)
  • Send the proof of payment to susdepid@unisa.ac.za
  • Visit www.unisa.ac.za/paymentinfo for banking details and payment information

Please note that this application fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available.
