Purpose: The purpose of the module is for students to gain detailed knowledge of basic geometrical concepts which underpins the development of deductive reasoning. Students who complete this module will be able to identify, analyse and solve problems relating to geometric objects. They will demonstrate an understanding of different forms of geometrical thinking including the van Hiele theory. Students will demonstrate the ability to evaluate, select and apply appropriate methods, procedures or techniques in the investigation or application of measurement, focusing on the historical development of measurement concepts and using a variety of measurement tools. Modelling of a variety of constructs will guide students to develop formulae for measuring attributes used at school level and |
