Purpose: The primary purpose of this module is to provide the student with knowledge of and engagement in quality theory and an understanding of how quality is applied in terms of quality control, quality assurance and quality management. This implies managing and utilizing the teachings, methods and tools to prevent errors (waste) and improve performance internal to the organisation. After completing the module, students will have the knowlwdge and understaning of theretical concepts and practical skills involved in the strategic role of quality management. The module focuses on the foundational concepts in quality management to develop understanding of general quality implementation practices. It also provides a foundation for quality management and its associated techniques.
