On the up and up

US News & World Report has published its 2021 Best Global Universities rankings, which includes a list of the top 13 tertiary learning institutions in South Africa. Unisa placed #9 in the country and #921 in the world, up 30 places from #951 last year. It was also the only university to move up in the local ranking. Read more

Double the impact factor

Established in 1917, the South African Geographical Journal is the flagship journal of the Society of South African Geographers. For the first time in its modern history, the SAGJ is now 'hosted' by the Department of Geography at Unisa, with Prof Ashley Gunter as Editor-in-Chief Human Geography and Prof David Hedding confirmed as Editor-in-Chief Physical Geography from 2021.
