The University of South Africa (UNISA) has accumulated student debt over the past decade. Unisa has over R830 million of historical debt arising from students who do not have the financial means to pay their outstanding fees.
Student fee debt marginalizes many students as many of them remain in the university system and are not able to register or progress to the next level. Some are not able to graduate and exit the university system.
The National Student Representative Council (NSRC) plans to address this debt by working with the university and its stakeholders.
The debt has adverse effects on Unisa’s existence and financial sustainability.
Please donate R70 or more using the https://unisa.devman.co.za/advancement/debtrelief/giving/ online facility which is secure and convenient.
