The theme for 2023 is Reclaiming Africa’s Intellectual Futures. It focuses on Tambo as a youth/student and his use of mathematics, science, and law to shape the world. An exhibition celebrating the life and times of Tambo will take place from 25 to 27 October at the same venue.
The keynote speaker is The Honourable Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, Minister in the Presidency, and her paper will encapsulate the life and legacy of Tambo, offering a profound exploration of his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to equality, human rights, and social justice. This address will not only celebrate the triumphs achieved under Tambo's leadership, but also acknowledge the challenges faced by him.
It will further propose ways and means to foster a foundation towards a safer and healthier South Africa where the youth are more inspired and hopeful about the future.
The discussants will be Zachary Kingsto, an OR Tambo family delegate, and Natasha Allie, the Acting CEO of the Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation
