Good turnout at Unisa's Kimberley open day
Unisa’s Kimberley Regional Service Centre hosted an open day on 1 and 2 July 2022. Open days offer the university’s marketers an opportunity to assist both existing and prospective students with student support information. The students benefit from face-to-face interactions with staff members as it provides useful information about Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL).

Exhibitions at the event included the Unisa's Department of Institutional Advancement (DIA), Kimberley Service Centre and all eight prestigious colleges showcasing their education offerings.
Ellen Mofokeng, the Acting Manager of Student Recruitment and Marketing from DIA said they had a positive turnout from both internal and external stakeholders. "College marketers were present and active in assisting a number of prospective students. The response was positive," she said.
In addition, Mofokeng said the Kimberley Regional Office attracted a great number of students because it is situated in a mall. Potential students interacting with exhibition stalls were interested in application and registration matters, and existing students wanted support with their registration enquiries.
The next Unisa open day is scheduled for 19 and 20 August 2022 at Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal.
