| Purpose: Students studying this module focus on the following specialized techniques and applications for ornamental plant production in specialized plant production facilities: greenhouse forcing techniques to modify plant growth and optimise quality plant production in a greenhouse; hydroponic plant production; tissue culture and micropropagation; plant breeding and selection techniques; genetic engineering; post-harvest techniques to improve vase life of cut flowers; green powered greenhouses and; specialized/state of the art greenhouse environment information management systems ("environmental computer"). |
