Advanced Reinforced Concrete Design - RCD4801

Purpose: The purpose of this module is to be able to analyse, design and detail advanced concrete structures. Students completing this module will be able to analyse and design reinforced concrete components involving ribbed slabs, flat slabs, deep beams, columns (for slenderness and biaxial bending), deep foundations, pre-stressed concrete structures, precast, composite and plain concrete design. Software applications like Prokon are paramount in completing the design procedures.
