Advanced Reaction Engineering - REE3701

Advanced Diploma Year module NQF level: 7 Credits: 12
Module presented in English Module presented online
Co-requisite: MAT3700, CPT3701
Purpose: This module aims to illustrate chemical reaction engineering principles and applications in process and product development. These include but are not limited to the evaluation of reaction rates from mechanisms and experimental data, qualification of pertinent transport, flow and mixing effects and the design of heterogeneous reactors. This module forms part of the Advanced Diploma in Chemical Engineering. On completion of this module students will develop competencies in the design of chemical reactors via synthesis of chemical kinetics, transport phenomena, and mass and energy balances.
