Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with comprehensive and systematic knowledge in Security Risk Control Measures and Security Technology. To provide them with the competence and skills to identify, recommend and implement effective solutions (risk control and security technology measures) to combat security (crime) problems. Security risk control measures should be viewed as comprising solutions to crime threats and risks. By utilising the case study method, students will be given the ability to identify, analyse and deal with complex and/or real world problems and issues using evidence-based solutions and theory-driven arguments. These acquired skills will assist students in effectively selecting and applying advanced security risk control measures and security technology in the security environment pertaining to security/crime risks. This module is intended for supervisors and managers who are at the forefront of this specific specialisation area in the broad discipline of security science.
