Purpose: Students will be equipped with knowledge and understanding of the present-day diversity of tradition in Christianity in the light of the formative developments during the early centuries. When one studies the history of the Church in Africa one looks at the rich heritage that has been woven like a tapestry with contributions from the early Church fathers and other Christian leaders. Just as each family history is unique, so the history of the Christian Church in Africa is not exactly the same as the history of the Christian Church in other parts of the world, even though there are similarities, and the Christian message remains the same. |
