Applied Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer - THT3701

Advanced Diploma Year module NQF level: 7 Credits: 12
Module presented in English Module presented online
Purpose: The qualifying student gains understanding of thermodynamic principles as applied to heat transfer, and refrigeration and air conditioning. In engineering practice, an understanding of the mechanisms of heat transfer is important since heat transfer plays a crucial role in the design of heat exchangers, power plants, refrigerators, and air conditioners, among others. Hence the purpose of this module is to enable qualifying students apply this knowledge and solve complex engineering problems involving analysis of heat transfer and systems which store, transfer and convert energy as required of a practicing engineering technologist.
