Purpose: This module is primarily intended for candidates who are interested in qualifying asfinancial accountants or management accountants. The module is designed to enable students to develop the advanced competencies required by relevant professional bodies, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for professional practice in the field of management accounting. It will equip students to: ユ Critically analyse and evaluate both financial and non-financial information to identify indicators of a business in difficulty; ユ Determine an optimal capital structure aligned with organisational strategy; ユ Appraise long-term investment opportunities using appropriate financial evaluation techniques; ユ Formulate and manage effective working capital and dividend policies, including the optimisation of cash levels and short-term financing; ユ Apply appropriate techniques to manage exposure to foreign exchange risk; and ユ Demonstrate an awareness of the ethical implications of financial decisions and professional actions in diverse business contexts.
