Module presented in English Module presented online
Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with a solid grounding in the South African environmental and social assessment processes - as dictated by South African legislation - in a variety of land use and geographical contexts, with cognisance of local and indigenous value systems, beliefs and preferences. This will enable them to interpret a variety of specialist environmental and social impact assessment data and reports in order to contribute to strategic, management, planning and development decisions. Students will furthermore be guided to employ critical perspectives and ethical environmental practices that support and work towards future sustainable development.
