| Purpose: To enable students to be able to demonstrate the ability to recognise and identify structures and functions of cells, tissues and organs and have insight into the classification of plants as well as the significance of plants for sustaining life on earth. Students able to identify, classify and make fully labelled drawings of selected algae, mosses, gymnosperms and angiosperms and be able to compare morphology, reproduction and adaptations as well as demonstrate an understanding of South African plant biomes and biotic composition of selected aquatic and terrestrial habitats. Students will also be able to describe basic laboratory techniques used in genetic experiments. |
