Purpose: This module serves as a capstone module, where students will rigorously apply all chemical engineering principles that they have learnt in previous modules to the sythesis and analysis of a chemical process. The student will need to be able to reserch and formulate a process flowsheet and then perform full process mass and energy balances with allowances for chemical reaction, separation, heat exchange or other unit process. The students will also be required to perform a detailed economic evaluation of the developed process flowsheet. The student will then need to apply techniques of proper academic report writing to present and discuss their design.
This module is part of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology Honours degree in Cheminal Engineering. This module module will enable students to develop competencies in applying mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational evaluationof systems employing chemical processes. |
