| Purpose: Students credited with this module will be aware that communication forms an integral part of the role of the accounting practitioner within business contexts. Students are sensitised to the variables influencing communication situations in the contemporary accounting environment and know how to respond appropriately.
This module serves as a response to a recent initiative of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) that expressed the need for communication training of prospective accounting professionals. Successful completion of this module does not qualify students to be communication professionals or perfect English language users, but will provide
a basis for further self-development of these competencies by creating an awareness of the need for it.
