Purpose: This module is part of the 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Nature Conservation. Students who complete this module will have an understanding of what biodiversity is, the value of biodiversity, the various impacts on biodiversity, and how to conserve biodiversity. Competencies obtained will equip future conservation biologists with fundamental knowledge for recognizing, measuring and mitigating impacts on the environment and biodiversity. The module will be of an interdisciplinary nature and should be appropriate for a wide variety of prospective students who have at least some biological science education and experience.
