Purpose: On completion of this module students can critically assess variety of habitats (i.e. marine, estuarine, freshwater and terrestrial) in the southern African context. The different zones and limiting factors of each habitat are identified and the adaptations of organisms to survive in each are described. The value of each habitat as a resource is outlined and Man's influence is assessed.
