| Purpose: The theory part of this module is aimed at introducing learners to advanced atomic theories, the electronic structure of atoms, the periodic table and periodicity, chemical bonding, behaviour of matter, stoichiometry, chemical proprieties of engineering materials, electrochemistry, chemical equilibrium and the chemistry of carbon.
The practical part of this module is aimed at equipping students with hands-on laboratory skills and techniques associated with some of the theoretical concepts covered in the theory part. Students accredited with this module will be able to practically demonstrate advanced chemistry concepts. They will learn to think critically and apply advanced chemical techniques when solving problems.
