| Purpose: The purpose of this module is for students to be able to discuss the various types of explosives and utilise primary high explosives and secondary high explosives appropriately according to their properties and performance. The students will also be able to utilise propellants appropriately according to their properties and performance and to utilise blast design principles appropriately according to their application and performance.
Students credited with this module will be able to choose typical applications of primary and secondary explosives. The students will also be able to apply and use propellants during manufacturing processes, will be able to choose typical propellants for particular applications and apply blast design principles.
