| Purpose: This module is interdisciplinary in nature and will be useful to students who are interested in understanding the ecology, nature and conservation status of freshwater ecosystems (in particular rivers and wetlands) in South Africa, as well as the challenges that these systems face. The module will introduce the students to concepts and strategies used to assess and manage these freshwater ecosystems as well as the legislation related to freshwater systems in South Africa. | |||
