Purpose: The main purpose of this module is to empower students with the necessary knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to comprehend the following: The foundations of government planning, the institutional infrastructure responsible for government planning, the administrative dynamics of government planning, the theoretical foundations of policy studies and policy analysis, the nature of policy analysis in developed and developing states, and the need for capacity building for policy improvement. In addition, the module is intended to help public managers and other individual working in this field to increase their ability to respond creatively to the planning and policy analysis challenges of the new millennium.
